English: The fact that the best things are free is something which, as you all know, we have been trying to prove for quite a while now - not least with this aptly-titled compilation-series. And likewise we have been trying to show that in our minds, free stands not just for free of cost but also for the free development of an individual style beyond the boundaries of genres.

So it hardly comes as a surprise that on the third release in this series, our new and old iD. allstars gather to fathom how much space electro and techno offer for the inclusion of dissimilar stylistic elements, thereby creating their very own musical blend. Familiar names from our portfolio like Sudio, Dual Perception, Glander and NK enhance their beats with that neat extra-dose of funk, while new and recent additions like Dr Freebs, Fioko, Cie and Hopeman use cute synthpop-lines and cuddly harmonies to uncover some soft and elegant sides to those genres commonly known as being rather hard and cold. Professor Kliq on the other hand relentlessly cranks it up to the max, borrowing some fat lumps from bigbeat and making it impossible for your feet to keep still.

"All good things come in threes." our endeared iD.EOLOGY grandma uses to say in a case like this. Being the good grandchildren we are, we nod in agreement, gently pat her hand and allow ourselves just this one tiny correction: "That's 'for free', granny, 'for free'."


Deutsch: Dass die besten Dinge frei sind, versuchen wir bekanntermaßen nicht zuletzt mit unserer entsprechend betitelten Compilation-Reihe schon seit geraumer Zeit zu belegen. Und dass wir "frei" dabei nicht nur im Sinne von kostenlos, sondern auch im Sinne individueller Entfaltung jenseits von Genregrenzen verstehen, ebenfalls.

Kaum verwunderlich also, dass unsere versammelten neuen und alten iD. Allstars auf der dritten Veröffentlichung dieser Reihe nun ausloten, wieviel Raum Electro und Techno eigentlich für artfremde Stilelemente bieten, und auf diese Weise ihre ganz eigene musikalische Mischung anrühren. Alte Bekannte aus unserem Portfolio wie Sudio, Dual Perception, Glander und NK verpassen ihren Beats eine kecke Extradosis Funk, während Neuzugänge wie Dr Freebs, Fioko, Cie und Hopeman den eher als hart und kalt bekannten Genres mit niedlichen Synthpop-Lines und kuscheligen Harmonien ein paar weiche und elegante Seiten abgewinnen. Professor Kliq wiederum dreht kompromisslos auf sorgt mit einem fetten Batzen Bigbeat-Anleihen dafür, dass die Füße niemals stillstehen.

"Aller guten Dinge sind drei.", pflegt unsere liebe iD.EOLOGY Oma in einem solchen Fall zu sagen. Als brave Enkel geben wir ihr natürlich grundätzlich recht, tätscheln ihr das Händchen und erlauben uns nur eine klitzekleine Verbesserung: "Es heißt 'frei', Oma, 'frei'."
